The England international is set to find a new challenge once the current Bundesliga season finally ends, with a Premier League move the obvious option.

Although Manchester City have first refusal on the 19-year-old should they match the highest offer, it remains unclear whether he will want to return to the club he decided to leave back in 2017.

Since that move to Germany, Sancho has made his name as one of the finest wingers on the planet, regularly adding both goals and assists during his two seasons as a Dortmund regular.

The Independent have now outlined how club officials are expecting their star asset to move to Manchester United should he leave the Westfalenstadion later this year, and he is expected to cost in excess of £100m.

Their report adds that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could use Sancho as the latest signing in his quest to find some of the best young talent in Europe, with the Red Devils now prioritising him after signing Bruno Fernandes in January.

Dortmund have the ability to stand firm over the forward as a result of his contract running until 2022, with other Premier League clubs monitoring the situation.

Liverpool are said to be interested as well as Chelsea, and the Blues could have an advantage with Sancho supporting them while growing up.

Despite all the transfer talk, Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke insisted earlier this month that nothing is yet decided.

"I think he has the feeling that the club does have a good future," Watzke told BBC Sport.

"In my opinion, I don't think he wants to leave.

"We have a very confidential relationship between us and him and his agents. We will discuss it."

He added: "It's not a question of money.

“For us, it would be the best position if he stays at Borussia Dortmund.

"We have enough money. We want to have titles. I think this team has a lot more potential with Jadon than without Jadon."
