The Spice Girls could be set to tour America when the global lockdown is over.
Melanie C has teased the possibility of more Girl Power reunion shows following last year’s successful UK stadium tour.
Asked about taking the gigs to the US, Mel said: “I really hope so!
“We had the best time last year. The shows were incredible. People came from the US – all over the world.
“Every night there were so many international flags.
“Us girls, we still talk. We have our phones. We talk about opportunities. I like to think in the future there will definitely be more Spice shows.”
Mel is back with a new solo single Who I Am, which attempts to make sense of her personal demons over the years.
“I feel like this is a new chapter for me both musically and personally,” she explained. “I went into the studio and realised there is a theme to the songs. I’m braver now. When I was young, I found that sometimes I didn’t speak up for myself.
“I feel like I’m in a good place. There’s part of myself and my life I haven’t made peace with. It’s all an education even now.”
Mel recently befriended Billie Eilish and offered her some good advice about dealing with fame at such a young age.
Delighted by her response, Mel told Buzzfeed: “I felt this connection with her, I was quite touched that she took on board what I said. I like to give my advice.
“Some people might think, ‘Shut up grandma’, but it felt good.
“It is hard navigating fame, success, growing up in the public eye. If I can help anyone not to have the issues I had, then great.”
In the meantime Mel is coming to terms with self isolating like the rest of us: “I know I need a routine or I’m just going
to be watching Netflix all day.”
